Crime Numbers

The Wisconsin Department of Justice provides crime statistics for Ozaukee County. In 2019, the County had a total of 131 violent crimes and 651 property crimes. Incidences of violent crimes include one homicide, 15 rapes, 4 robberies, 47 aggravated assaults, and 64 simple assaults. Law enforcement agencies also recorded 58 burglaries, 568 larcenies, and 25 motor vehicle thefts. There were no arsons in the county in 2019.

Between 2015 and 2019, aggravated assault (34.3%), and motor vehicle theft (47%) rates rose in Ozaukee County. The five-year crime trend for the county also shows falling robbery (-50%), burglary (-38.9%), and larceny (-5%) rates. There was no homicide or rape recorded in the county in 2015.

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections maintains an online database of the state’s sex offenders. Select the Sex Offender Registry’s Geographical Search and choose Ozaukee from the County drop-down menu to find an offender living in the county. The search result will include the offender’s full name and alias, residential address, photo, ethnicity, offense, and current status.

The County Sheriff’s Office runs the Ozaukee County Jail and allows access to inmate information through the Ozaukee County Inmate Search. Find records in the databases by searching with an inmate’s last name, first name, gender, and/or date of birth. Search results include the inmate’s photograph, physical description, case number, and specific offense. The Sheriff’s Office also maintains a public online list of arrest warrants in the County, through its Active Ozaukee County Warrants page.

All County Jail visitors must register for, and schedule both on-site and video visitations, through the approved ICSolutions platform. Visitors may use the Jail’s lobby computer to register for, and schedule a visit. All visits must be scheduled a minimum of 16 hours and a maximum of 2 weeks in advance.The maximum duration of a visitation is 30 minutes. Those visiting inmates online must pay $7.50 per session.

Inmates are allowed a maximum of 4 weekly visits, including 2 on-site and 2 video visitations. The County Jail records and monitors all visits.

Court Records

Ozaukee County court records are available online through the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access. Use the Case Search tool to find available records by selecting Ozaukee from the County drop-down menu. Filter search results and find records quicker by providing as many of the following details as possible: subject’s last name, first name, business name, birth date, and case number. Property records are available from the County’s Register of Deeds. The Register of Deeds grants public access to these records through the approved Tapestry platform. Birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates are available from the Ozaukee County Register of Deeds. Records are accessible online, by mail, and in person. The first copy of each record costs $20. Each additional copy costs $3 if requested with the first copy.

Ozaukee County birth and marriage certificates are also available in all Wisconsin counties and at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). The DHS provides access to birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates through its Vital Records Services. The first copy of each record costs $20.
