The Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility (MSDF) is an adult medium security facility that is in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. How to Visit a Milwaukee County Inmate

How to Send Jail Mail in Milwaukee County

Milwaukee County Probation and Parole

To be put on probation by a circuit court judge or released from prison on parole implies that a person may complete their sentence outside of prison or jail. The person involved will be supervised by the Department of Corrections (DOC) in their community.

Probation means community-based supervision. Usually, as part of probation, the court orders a person to fulfill certain conditions or prohibit the individual from certain things in relation to their crime history. The conditions given may include: paying restitution, attending treatment or education groups, or participating in community service.

Sentence Withheld, Placed on Probation means the court has not imposed a sentence and has ordered the person to be placed under the supervision of the DOC.

Sentence Imposed And Stayed, Placed on Probation implies court sentenced a person to a specific term, but ordered that the person be placed under the supervision of the Department of Corrections.

Parole means that the Wisconsin Parole Commission has released a person from prison conditionally after reaching a mandatory release date.

The fees paid for offender’s supervision is based on the monthly gross income of the offender and their spouse, and can be set at $20.00, $40.00, or $60.00 per month. The agent supervising the person may regulate the supervision fee when there is a change in the person's monthly gross income earning or may exclude the person from paying supervision fees, depending on the circumstances.

The person must make payments using money orders, cashier’s checks, or credit cards and complete a payment coupon or any other procedure requested by the Department.

To be credited for a supervision fee, the offender or person involved must provide both the supervision fee payment and the assigned coupon.
